The Diffrences

Well I think they arent that diffrent from each other because they both have to deal with writing and also sound like journals.Well, thats what I think.They also complained to a person about this one thing. The email etiquette was just a little bit diffrent because the whole class had to be going to the writing lab to get a little bit of help to make our paper longer and make it sound better when in the other paper we just wrote without anybodies help in what to write.I took me a while to think about both of them and how to make them sound good since I havent been to school in a while.It took me about an hour to start writing a couple of ideas in those papers.The teacher also increased the words we type in our papers and it makes it a little harder but I'm getting the hang of it.It also makes it harder for both of the papers because I have to go back and check for any mistakes on any kind.It also improves your writing skills I guess thats the reason the teacher does it."Its better for me" when I really need that help.The class also found out about the writing lab where we can go whenever we need help in writing a paper.Hopefully when this semester finishes I get the hang of writing journals and writing emails in the proper way.I mean everyone needs that extra help to complete that perfect paper.

On monday we meet up with all our group members.We all shared our email papers.We read it to our whole group and asked what needed to be fixed.It was intresting knowing what kind of mistakes we made in our papers and sharing information in how to better them.It really helped me alot and I'm sure it also did for my team members.I think my paper sounded kind of good but it just needed to be extended and a little bit of more details.We all wrote in our typed email paper what we needed to fix.I even forgot to thank the teacher for reading my paper and also my contact to were she could reach me.Well that same monday I had gone to the writing lab and typed my draft paper.If I wouldve know I needed that information I wouldve fixed my paper.The teacher came to the resque after she saw us talking about our papers and what we needed to fix.She really helped us out and showed us a little extra in how to extend our paper.After that I added a little bit of more information and made my paper sound better and more profetional.Well,thats what I think.After class I went to the writing center and schedule my appointment for the real paper thats due on friday.I just need that little bit of help to make my paper sound better but I'm sure with one of those teachers in the writing lab is going to help me in getting that "A" in this work.So far three in our group have our papers but hopefully with the help of eachother we all four get our work done.

Summarizing Group #2 Articles

On Friday we had some good article discussions during class.We had four articles the first one was "Eharmony Biased Against Gays." People from that website were judging gays and banning them from the website.Gays feel offended and want a little bit more of respect.Thats all they are asking for.I think gay people should be respected more because we are all humans no matter what and we can judge the way people want to live their lives.The second article we had was "The Dating Detectives," It was about this guys that send spies to their love one to see what they are really made of.Many of the ladies are caught doing things that they aren't suppose to and end up not getting anything from the men they suppose to be dating.It's crazy how this guy sends this spy to this other country to see how this girl he has met trough the internet really is.I guess to see if she was really worth giving a try.That girl that was supposly being fatefull ended up being cought in a hotel with another guy by the spy.For example if I was that guy dating girls threw the internet I would be out of my mind,In the first place I wouldn't trust any ladies because you dont really know how she is.What about diseases?The third one was my article and it was "Getting Back Into It".It was rearlly intresting how people meet trough the internet knowing their consequenses.It talked about baby boomers and whats the percent of them being single.I guess many of them see it to be easier to meet someone trough the internet instead of going out to the real world and finding someone.The last one we talked about was "Internet Dating 2.0".It was kind of funny knowing what kind of dating people are using trough the internet.The class started charing a couple of difrent websites for online dating.Technology has grown in the lives of the people and I wonder how it would be without it and dating websites.

On the discussion we had that day the teacher talked about our new assignment that was due.The teacher gave us an idea of what it was going to look like.She gave the whole class a funny demostration of a love email and how crazy the character was.I would have tought it was going to be easy to prepare this paper ,but there is a lot of steps you have to have for that perfect paper. I haven't typed an email in a long time so I don't even know how it suppose to look like, but with the teacher's or group partners I should complete my paper with no problem."I think". The teacher also demostrated what we needed in the paper such as thesis.We have to give a good point and explanation to the reader.I think the only problem I'm going to have with this paper is makeing it long enough and adding alot of details.I'm not that type of person that likes makeing up lies in to a paper to turn in to the teacher.It makes me feel kind of weird not knowing what to write.Writing hasn't been my thing since I graduated like three years ago,but I can't make it habbit because I know its going to pay of later on in the future.we also had to set up an appointment and the writing center where they can help us out with our paper.I didn't get a chance to go for that appointment when I knew I needed it.When I went back it was to full that they set me an appointment three days before we had to turn in our email paper for a grade,but with all the help I can I'm going to finish this paper with or without anybodies help.

Group Four Summarizing

On Friday group four had some article discussions.They were about the phones in class that, "If they are ok to use during class", "E Campus News", "How to get schools out of the 20th century", and the last one, "Al Gore: Should schools be wired to the internet." I guess most of the elderly people are getting scared of the 20th century technology devices.Thats the way I also feel about it sometimes since it's growing so fast.I don't even know what to expect from technology now in these days, things are being invented 24/7 nonstop.Phones helps out students in homework for school.People are using the new phones called Iphones to write papers,but I wonder how students transfer there homework to a computer moniter to print out papers.I'm sure that doing your homework in a phone wouldn't feel good or maybe it does for those fast texters.I even wonder if this new idea is really going to help out students in college improve themselves.Another bad idea about it is that whoever that student thats using that iphone has to have a contract with AT&T and monthly payments.I would rather do my homework trew a computer and don't have any other worries about charges because knowing that the phone is there its going to be very tempting.Imagine every student that goes over there minutes and how much the money adds up to I would rather spent that money on school books or something.Another topic that sounded kind of intresting was were they are asking if schools should be wired to the internet and I think its a good idea and a bad idea because there is people that use it for a good cause such as homework and studying and the other people use it for personal things. In reallity students and teachers wouldn't do anything without the internet because it's a very important factor in school and it wouldn't function without it.The 20th century has advanced to much and is still advancing by the day.New words are being invented, I guess thats what people are scared of and also what the meanings to the words,but I know that there is people that use alot of slang words that they use in cell phone texting and get confused when doing a writing assignments.The 20th century has alot of new things waiting for us and many good ones such as technology and new vocabulary.

Article Discussion

On Wednesday's lecture we discussed about the new technologies and how it's effecting many people their freshmen year in college.The whole class had something to say about this lecture.I also think it really does help out alot because without these advanced technologies we wouldn't be this far compared to the eighteen century were I'm sure it would have taken a longer time to progress a paper or find any errors.Technology has really progressed threw out the years,It has helped out people from spelling grammer to any kind of math problem.I'm that type of person that likes messing with any kind of technical device.I like looking up stuff and learning from it as much as I can.The first subject we talked about in class was about some random university that had a policy about a Iphone and that any of the students attending the school couldn't receive their money for school because they were receiving that device for their school use instead.Many people in my class were against it, that they would rather get the money instead of the Iphone and that they would rather have a computer than the iphone. Mrs. Crawford changed the topic a little bit and asked the students what would they rather pick a Iphone or a computer,most of the people said a computer.What about the people that already have an Iphone and don't need it, those are the people that aren't getting anything out of it.We also had a discussion about tracking down their students in gps.Gps is a new device used in the phones were people can locate any person by simply just putting in the telephone number.The second topic was about three levels in progressing in school and what every color meant.The color red means that the student is doing really bad and needs alot of improvement in school.The second color in the chart was the color yellow were it means the person is half way in between bad and good and a little bit of progress to be in the perfect spot.The color green meant that the student is perfectly located were they suppose to be in the the chart.All of these were intresting topics and makes me wonder about the next topic that has us waiting.

Reflecting on the discussion

Reflecting on friday's discussion we had alot of communication in class. Mrs. Crawford was talking pretty much about our syllubus and what we are doing trew out the semester.It's fun to talk about what we have ahead of us and not to be surprised from one day to another.Mrs Crawford talk to the whole class about the internet websites such as youtube,myspace, and facebook.I think that we are pretty much going to explore them and learn more about them.Technology has grown to be a part of america and other countries, also an addiction to many people.So far the topics on our essay's have been fun and exciting I havent wrote an essay since I've been out of high school in almost three years.It's fun to come back to myself and start writing like I used to back in high school.Our group is the best and full of hard workers.Most of us have our assigments done in time and we work as a team.Our class presentation was better than the others.Thats what I think in my point of view.If we keep on doing the way we are we are most likely going to end up whit an A in class.I couldn't ask for a better team.The key for our group to be succesful is to communicate and work together as a team and it shouldn't be a problem for us.The upcoming assigments sound like alot of fun.I dont really know whats the point of the websites we are going to be exploring trew out the semester,but it sounds like alot of fun.The only website I haven't visit is facebook I haven't really looked in to it.I guess it's kind of like myspace.Yeah, but I'm really excited for this class whit all the assigments we have done so far makes me want to wonder how much fun our following assigment is going to be.

A Bad Grade I Got

Today wasn't really my day.I went to my second class were the day before my teacher had told the whole class that chapter two was due the fallowing visit to class.For many reasons I haven't done my homework in the past week.I havent received my money for school,I had to pay out of my own pocket to start comeing to school.Even dough I didn't have my books I tried to make everything that was possible to get my books and to do my homework.It's hard not having books and knowing that you have homework.I had to pay for my semester,but most likely i get my school paid of and a little bit of money to buy my own books for this semester and get all the chapters done.I talked to my teacher after class about the book problem and he told me about another thing that can really help me.It was going downstairs into the lab and asking one of the teachers to see if I can barrow a book to do my assigments.I decided to go to the lab and barrow the book, but there was only one problem.At the end I wasn't able to barrow the book because I didn't have a student ID.The teacher told me were I could get one so,she send me to the other building across to go get my ID.After everything the Id center was closed for the day because of the machines not working correctly.The following day I ended up getting an F in that chapter and it was only me to blame.It was a very dissapointment to me knowing Ihad a low grade.I really learned my lesson and from now on was to do my work and not to leave it to the last minute and scoring for A's was my goal. I'm scoring for A's and trying my best is what matters.School work is the most important thing in my mind right now and I'm pretty sure it's going to help me out in the future.I really decided to take my school seriously after that point.All A's and no more low grades.
